It seems that every town in America has a special event or tradition they love to celebrate. But most pale in comparison to the sheer magic, color, and imagination of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Now in its 45th year, this world-renowned event has grown from humble beginnings, and enjoys a reputation as one of the premiere ballooning events in the world. Peoples Flowers has been in town for almost 75 years, and we like to think that we are as much of an Albuquerque tradition as the festival.

We join our friends and neighbors in celebrating this amazing event which our community proudly hosts each year.
In its inaugural year, the Balloon Fiesta launched 13 balloons from a mall parking lot – but we have come a long way! From October 7 through October 15, over 80,000 people are expected to experience the launch and flight of approximately 600 hot air balloons from across the globe.

Balloon Fiesta Park is a marvel in itself – a 78 acre launch field which gives visitors unprecedented access to the balloons and their pilots. Guests are welcome to wander throughout the field, getting an up-close and personal view of the gorgeous crafts before their launch. At night, the pilots simultaneously ignite their burners to create a glowing field of beautiful color; and in the morning, to the sheer amazement of spectators, hundreds of balloons ascend together into our bright blue sky.

It is no wonder that the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is the largest annual international event held in the United States, and one of the most-photographed spectaculars in existence.

Each year, Peoples Flowers designs colorful “mini-bokays” , petite bouquets, and Dutch Treat large bouquets which are inspired by the color and magic of the Balloon Fiesta. These gorgeous arrangements are the perfect way to commemorate the beauty of the day, in vivid hues and inspired designs.
