Ever wish there was a holiday intended exclusively for celebrating your best friends? Well we here at Peoples Flowers are here to tell you that now there is. It’s called Galentine’s Day, and while yes, this is a female-centric occasion (sorry fellas), the fact that it exists at all is a win for friendships everywhere.

First proposed in a 2010 episode of NBC’s Parks and Recreation, when main character Leslie Knope grabbed her gals and took them out to lunch, proclaiming it “only the best day of the year,” Galentine’s Day is meant to be celebrated on February 13th.

So what do you do on Galentine’s Day? Well, you gather your besties and go have your own long lunch, or dinner party, or girls night out. There’s no wrong way to celebrate your friendships, but we would definitely advise that you exchange some gifts. And given that the very next day your friends will (hopefully) be all full up on long-stemmed roses and chocolates, take a different approach and give them something more lighthearted and fanciful like our Just Happy Bouquet.

This would make a wonderful clutch of blooms to have sent to a bestie at her office, giving her instant cred for being the first one to receive flowers that week. There’s no reason Galentine’s Day shouldn’t involve as many gifts and as much love as it’s much more famous brother.
